Hello from conference ground zero!
It’s time for another installment in the Ridgecrest 2018 countdown. In this email we’ll be answering an important question, “So what are we actually going to be DOING at the conference?” Well, we’re glad you asked! Let’s talk about the conference program.
As you might remember from an earlier email in this series, the theme for our time together comes from Revelation 7:9-10.
After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a great roar, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!”
Not only is this a powerful word of joyful hope, but it also contains the essence of our mission, the reason we do what we do.
In keeping with this, we have asked three people to join us as guest speakers (read their bios on the conference website). Ronnie Stevens has been a friend of CRM’s for many years and is a gifted Bible teacher. Coming to us from Moscow, Russia, he will be joining us to help us go deep into those prophetic words from Revelation. Libby Little was a missionary in a restricted-access country for over thirty years. She has an amazing story to tell and will share with us from her deep well of courage, faith, and boldness. Anne de Leyser comes to us from the Ffald y Brenin Retreat Centre in Wales which is in the midst of an outpouring of God’s blessing and power. She’s got stories and a prayer practice to share that is laying the foundation for gospel movements around the world.
In addition to these special guests, we’ll be hearing from a variety of CRM staff on what God is doing around the world as well as taking a look at where we’re headed together as an organization. We’ll have multiple opportunities to learn from each other through workshops and training (see the note on workshops below).
One of the things that we have heard from many different sources throughout the preparation for this conference is the desire for time spent together in worship and hearing from God. So we have made worship and prayer a priority, both in the plenary sessions as well as in the workshops. Based on past experience, when CRM people get together, God likes to do stuff. Above all, we want to make space for that to happen.
WORKSHOPS: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!
Over the past few months, we have been assembling a list of workshops to be taught by staff based on “Identity, Intimacy with Jesus, and Prayer”. These will be offered on Wednesday and Thursday during the conference. We’re really excited by the options that have emerged and can’t wait to share them with you.
For our Friday morning workshop session, we want to open it up for your suggestions.Do you have something to share that you think would benefit all of us? It could be a ministry resource or training, a critical conversation, or it could just be a fun and interesting skill or insight you have to share. The session would be 1.5 hours long and should be suitable for a group somewhere between 20-50 people. Send us a title and a paragraph describing your workshop idea to email@example.com and we’ll let you know if we can find a space for it. The deadline for submissions is June 8.
That's all for now! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to write us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Until next time,
- The Ridgecrest 2018 Planning Team
