Excursions, activities, and other fun things!

Hi all

22 days and counting!

Looking ahead to conference week, we've got some important notes about WEDNESDAY.

During the week of conference, Wednesday afternoon and evening are dedicated to fun. This means that the schedule that day is going to be a little different than the other days (check out the conference schedule here).

Here are the key facts to help you sort it out:

  1. There are lots of activities to choose from. In fact, there is so much that you will not be able to do it all! If you like a slower pace you may enjoy a conversation while lounging in a rocking chair near the conference center coffeeshop or on an innertube floating down the French Broad River. Maybe you want to step it up a bit and enjoy a nice hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains? For those of you who want to go big, we have options for you too. Big options like a thrilling whitewater raft experience on the Pigeon River, or the Zip Line and Climbing Wall or a crazy High Ropes Course or even a strenuous hike/climb up Chimney Rock. So much to do and so little time!

All of the onsite activities are included with your conference registration fee while the cost for the offsite activities varies. Get all the details at the link below.
  2. IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DINNER ON WEDNESDAY: Because many of us will be offsite on a variety of adventures, dinner at the conference center dining hall is not included on Wednesday night unless you sign up in advance. Since we don't want anyone going hungry, we're asking EVERYONE to visit the website to complete the DINNER & EXCURSION registration forms by July 22. If you don't have a food plan for Wednesday night, you'll be stuck ordering pizza or visiting the camp vending machines and ain't nobody wants to see that happen.
  3. Keep in mind there are evening events scheduled on Wednesday like Open Mic Night and the Beer Tasting Excursion so make sure you check them out as you make your plan.

That pretty much does it for the details. Hurry over to the conference website before July 22nd to peruse the options for fun, make dinner plans for Wednesday, and book an excursion. Remember, space is limited for many of the activities and is available on a first come first served basis.
